TOKYO, November 13, 2025: Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE have announced a new collaboration called iPhone Pocket, a 3D-knitted wearable accessory designed to hold an iPhone and other small items. The product, which combines the Japanese  fashion brand’s textile innovation with Apple’s design precision, will be available beginning November 14 at select Apple Store locations and online in several regions including France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The iPhone Pocket is crafted in Japan using a singular 3D-knitting technique inspired by ISSEY MIYAKE’s concept of “a piece of cloth.” The design fully encloses the iPhone while expanding to fit additional items such as AirPods or small personal belongings. Its ribbed open structure allows visibility of the phone’s screen when stretched, offering both protection and accessibility. The material references ISSEY MIYAKE’s signature pleats, combining texture and flexibility in a minimalist form.

Available in two versions, the short strap model will come in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black, while the long strap variant will be available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black. The short strap version will retail for 149.95 U.S. dollars and the long strap version for 229.95 U.S. dollars. Both versions are designed to be carried in multiple ways, including by hand, attached to a bag, or worn directly on the body.

Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, said the creation of iPhone Pocket reflects a focus on universality and personal adaptability. “The design of iPhone Pocket speaks to the bond between iPhone and its user, while keeping in mind that an Apple product is designed to be universal in aesthetic and versatile in use,” Miyamae said. He added that the concept aligns with ISSEY MIYAKE’s approach to design, which emphasizes open-ended simplicity and user interpretation.

iPhone Pocket offers versatility in daily use

Molly Anderson, Apple’s vice president of Industrial Design, said the collaboration represents a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and functionality. “Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE share a design approach that celebrates craftsmanship, simplicity, and delight,” Anderson said. “The iPhone Pocket offers a refined way to carry an iPhone, AirPods, and other everyday items.” She noted that the color palette was chosen to coordinate with Apple’s iPhone lineup, allowing users to mix and match designs.

The iPhone Pocket was developed through a close partnership between ISSEY MIYAKE’s research and development team and the Apple Design Studio. The structure reinterprets ISSEY MIYAKE’s pleated textile technology for functional, everyday use, creating a balance between high fashion and practical design. The accessory’s form and materials were tested to ensure durability and comfort, while maintaining the lightness and fluidity associated with ISSEY MIYAKE’s garments.

The special-edition accessory will be available in select Apple retail stores worldwide, including Apple Canton Road in Hong Kong, Apple Ginza in Tokyo, Apple Jing’an in Shanghai, Apple Marché Saint-Germain in Paris, Apple Myeongdong in Seoul, Apple Orchard Road in Singapore, Apple Piazza Liberty in Milan, Apple Regent Street in London, Apple SoHo in New York City, and Apple Xinyi A13 in Taipei. The release of iPhone Pocket arrives ahead of the holiday shopping season. Customers will be able to explore the collection in person or online, with Apple Specialists available to assist with color and strap combinations to complement their iPhone models.

iPhone Pocket bridges fashion and technology globally

Founded in 1971, ISSEY MIYAKE is recognized for its innovative approach to textile design and manufacturing. The brand’s work integrates technology and craftsmanship to produce clothing and accessories characterized by comfort, originality, and long-lasting quality. Apple, founded in 1976, remains a global leader in consumer technology, known for products such as the iPhone, Mac, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, as well as its six software platforms and integrated services.

The iPhone Pocket marks a continuation of Apple’s collaborations with global design houses, uniting craftsmanship and industrial design in a product that reflects both companies’ focus on simplicity, usability, and aesthetic precision, while highlighting the growing intersection of technology, fashion, and functional everyday design that appeals to a new generation of consumers seeking seamless integration between personal style, innovation, and practicality in their daily lives. – By Content Syndication Services.
